Ceramic aggregate rotary kiln for construction

Ceramic aggregate possesses excellent properties, including low density, high cylinder pressure strength, high porosity, high softening coefficient, good frost resistance, and excellent alkali-aggregate reactivity. Ceramic aggregate features low density, internal porosity, uniform morphology and composition, high strength, and excellent durability. It is lightweight, corrosion-resistant, frost-resistant, earthquake-resistant, and provides thermal insulation. These excellent properties have led to its widespread use in a variety of fields, including building materials, horticulture, food and beverages, fireproofing and insulation, chemicals, and petroleum. Its application areas are continuously expanding. Initially, ceramsite was primarily used in the building materials sector. However, with continuous technological advancements and a deeper understanding of its properties, its application has expanded beyond its traditional scope into new areas. With the continuous development of new qualities and applications for ceramsite, ceramsite concrete has become widely used in various precast components and cast-in-place concrete projects in industrial and civil construction, and its share in other applications is expected to gradually increase.


Structural Components:

The rotating drum is the main body of the equipment. It is cylindrical and constructed from rolled steel plates. Its interior is lined with high-temperature-resistant material and is used to carry and calcine materials. Support device: This includes rollers, roller shafts, bearings, and bearing seats. The entire kiln body is supported by the rollers, ensuring stable rotation.

Support device with roller stops: This device is equipped with roller stops to control the up and down movement of the kiln body, ensuring stable operation within a certain range.

Sealing devices at the kiln head and tail: Advanced sealing technologies, such as shell seals, axial contact seals, or heat-resistant steel flake seals, are used to prevent the leakage of hot gas and dust, improving the equipment's sealing and thermal efficiency.

Coal injection pipe device: This device is used to inject pulverized coal or other fuel into the kiln for combustion, providing heat for calcining the materials. Furthermore, the kiln body includes a transmission device, including a main transmission and an auxiliary transmission device. This device slows the kiln body's rotation in the event of a power outage, preventing deformation.


Operating Principle:

The kiln body is placed on rollers at a certain inclination (usually around 3°) to the horizontal. Material enters at the upper end of the kiln body (the tail end) and, as the kiln body rotates, rolls down from the higher end to the lower end (the head end). At the kiln head, a high-pressure fan injects fuels such as pulverized coal and natural gas into the kiln, where they are fully combusted. The heat generated causes physical and chemical changes in the material, which, after calcination and cooling, becomes ceramic aggregate.

Automation and Energy Saving: Equipped with automatic temperature control and over-temperature alarm functions, some equipment can also utilize waste heat from secondary air intake to further reduce energy consumption.

Environmental Protection and Sealing: Advanced sealing technology is used to reduce dust emissions and hot air loss. Some rotary kilns can also degrade toxic and hazardous waste and solidify heavy metals in the clinker to prevent secondary pollution.
